ROOTS is often the first place a young person finds themselves when newly experiencing homelessness, and here is the most significant impact. We strive to meet each individual where they are – and work alongside them.
After 20+ years of operating out of our old location on 43rd, ROOTS faced “homelessness.” Our building was going to be sold soon. We needed to find a new home, with only months to spare.
Without ROOTS in a permanent home, 450 or more young adults each year would be at risk of sleeping outside, and we couldn't let them down. The urgency of caring for young adults at-risk led us to the bold move of property ownership. Our guests need a safe place to stay, resources towards independence, and a community that cares.
Our team supports young adults in finding help and new opportunities and doing everything we can so that their homeless experience is brief and only one time.
